Day 1: Arrive in Siem Reap - Angkor Wat visit

  • Arrive at Siem Reap International Airport and transfer to your accommodation.
  • Check into your hotel and relax after your journey.
  • In the afternoon, begin your Angkor exploration with a visit to the breathtaking Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Consider hiring a local guide (optional at an add-on cost) to enhance your understanding of the temple's history and intricate carvings.
  • Enjoy dinner (Add-on) and a traditional Apsara Dance Show in the evening.

 

Day 2: Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm - Ancient wonders

  • Start your day early to witness a magical sunrise over Angkor Wat.
  • Explore Angkor Thom, a walled royal city, visiting the Bayon Temple with its enigmatic smiling faces and the Terrace of the Elephants, a grand viewing platform.
  • Visit Ta Prohm, the "Tomb Raider temple," where giant trees have grown entwined with the ancient ruins.
  • Return to Siem Reap for dinner. Stay overnight at hotel or explore night life at the city on your own.

 

Day 3: Siem Reap - Beyond the temples

  • In the morning, Visit the Cambodia Landmine Museum to learn about the country's history and ongoing efforts to clear landmines.
  • In the afternoon, experience a traditional boat ride along Tonle Sap Lake to visit a floating village like Kompong Phluk or Kompong Khleang
  • Enjoy the sunset view over the lake.
  • Enjoy dinner and explore the vibrant Angkor night market for souvenirs.

 

Day 4: Travel to Phnom Penh

  • Take an early morning flight from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.
  • Check into your hotel.
  • In the afternoon, explore the Royal Palace, the official residence of the King of Cambodia, and the Silver Pagoda within its grounds.
  • Visit Wat Phnom, a 27-meter high artificial hill with a Buddhist temple on top, offering scenic views of the city.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 5: Phnom Penh - Dark history and vibrant markets

  • Begin your day with a poignant visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21 prison), followed by the Choeung Ek Killing Fields, both serving as powerful reminders of the Khmer Rouge regime's atrocities.
  • Afterwards, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Russian Market, a bustling bazaar offering a wide range of goods, from souvenirs to local handicrafts.
  • In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers.
  • Explore the lively Sisowath Quay, a popular riverside area with restaurants, bars, and a night market. 

 

Day 6: Depart from Phnom Penh

  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
  • Depending on your flight schedule, you can either enjoy some last-minute souvenir shopping at the Russian Market or Central Market or opt for a relaxing activity like a traditional Khmer massage.
Transfer to Phnom Penh International Airport for your departure, taking with you memories of Cambodia's rich history, culture, and natural beauty.
