day 2–RIO DE JANEIRO
After breakfast. It´s time to get to know the city of Rio de Janeiro, known as & The Marvelous City. The tour will take you to the most famous monuments like the Sugar Loaf including a panoramic of beaches and lunch, besides the Corcovado with ascension by train. The tour is all day and takes around 8 hours, the entrances to the monuments are included. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.
day 3 – RIO DE JANEIRO
Breakfast at the hotel. Day free for personal activities. Overnight stay.
day 4– RIO DE JANEIRO /IGUAZU FALLS
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport, in order to take the flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Arrival and greetings. Transfer to the chosen hotel at Foz do Iguaçu. Accommodation and overnight stay.
day 5 -IGUAZU FALLS
Breakfast at the Hotel. Time to enjoy a half-day excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls where you will enjoy vast panoramic views of the Falls allowing you to take them in their entirety. Duration. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
day 6-IGUAZU FALLS
Breakfast at the Hotel. Time to depart on a full day tour to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls where you will have intimate views of this unforgettable section of the Iguazu River. An experienced guide will show you the hidden gems of this unique National Park and will take you off the beaten path to show you the best views. Lower and upper walkways permit up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. Trails through the 210 square mile reserve provide visitors with various views of the Falls, especially the largest one, Devil’s Throat. The ecological train ride is included in the tour A real adventure day will be a real adventure, full of thrills and spills, and is an absolute must for the adventurer at heart. Return to the hotel to the hotel and overnight stay.
day 7 -IGUAZU FALLS/SALVADOR
Breakfast at the hotel. On scheduled time transfer to the airport in order to take the flight to Salvador. Arrival and greetings at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and day off.
day 8– SALVADOR
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a city tour, t he tour begins with the departure from the selected hotels to start visiting some of the most important points of the city of Salvador. Our tour will start at Farol da Barra where we will stop for photos. We will continue towards the Tororó Dike, beautifully decorated with sculptures of the orixás, the African gods presented to our people by the slaves coming from Africa. The itinerary follows the avenue of the Valley of Nazaré and arrives in the lower city, passing through the port area and crossing the commercial district of Calçada, where you can see the beautiful building that houses the Railway Station.
Just ahead is the square of Rome, where we have the social works of Sister Dulce, it follows the avenue of Dendezeiros, reaching the hill of Bonfim, where we will stop for photos at the most famous church in Salvador due to the traditional “ Lavagem do Bonfim”, celebrated by the people of Bahia, throwing water on the steps of the temple in a party that lasts the whole day. We will pass by the Monte Serrat Fort, a place of unique beauty, union of the architecture preserved from the time of its foundation with the beautiful view of the Bay of All Saints. Then we will make a stop at the Mercado Modelo to enjoy the local handicrafts, where colorful handicrafts, the sea in the background and the sound of the berimbau enchant tourists and people who pass by. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
day 9 – SALVADOR/ FRADE & ITAPARICA ISLANDS
Breakfast at the hotel. Schooner tour of the islands of Frades and Itaparica, stop at the beach of Ponta de Areia. The tour starts boarding on schooner equipped with sound service, bar and bilingual guide. The tour pass through the Bay of All Saints, the largest bay in Brazil, with two stops - Frades and Itaparica islands, respectively. On the way of Frades Island we will have partial view of the Fort of São Marcelo,and an overview i of the high and low cities of Itapagipe peninsula (where the famous Church of the Bonfim is located). Arriving at the Frades Island, we will have time to enjoy nature and a revigorating sea bath in the crystal clear waters. Continuing to Itaparica Island, we will stop at Ponta de Areia Beach, a warm and shallow water beach, where we will have time for sea bathing and tasting the typical Bahian cuisine as an optional lunch. Return to hotel. Overnight stay.
day 10 –SALVADOR/MANAUS
Breakfast at the hotel. On scheduled time transfer to the airport in order to take the flight to Manaus. Arrival and greetings at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and day off.
day 11 - MANAUS
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning departure for a panoramic view of the Rio Branco Palace, the Port of Manaus and the Rio Negro Palace with a brief stop for photos. Visit to the Jeferson Peres park, external visit to the Palace of Justice, internal visit to the Amazonas Theater, inaugurated in 1896, The main tourist point of Manaus and to finish visit to the church of São Sebastião.
day 12 - MANAUS/IBEROSTAR GRAND AMAZON (friday)
Breakfast at hotel and check out. We embark the Grand Amazon in the Port of Manaus in the late afternoon and then, after settling into our luxurious cabins, we can watch the sunset from the Top Deck as the boat begins sailing on the Amazon. Tonight, the crew welcomes you aboard with a cocktail, followed by a delicious dinner. This is your first opportunity to take advantage of the ship’s open bar policy! Overnight on board.
day 13- IBEROSTAR GRAND AMAZON
Lake Janauacá & Manaquiri (saturday)
We wake up at Janauacá Lake. If you are up early, there is a Sunrise Lovers & continental breakfast on the Upper Deck, where you can enjoy the early morning atmosphere. Otherwise, you can enjoy the buffet spread in the Kuarup Restaurant. After breakfast, we make an exploration by skiff and along marked trails of the rainforest, keeping our eyes open for jungle birds and Pink River Dolphins. There should be countless photo opportunities. We also stop at the home of a local Caboclo, to gain insight into human life in the Amazon, and perhaps purchase some of the traditional handicrafts. Later back on board there will be a lecture on Amazon Fruits in the Lua Salon. In the afternoon, we continue to the Manaquiri Region, for an excursion by skiff though the closed-in streams. It is a great opportunity for spotting some of the flora and fauna of the Amazon and a chance to try your skills fishing for piranha! We are welcomed back on board with live music on the upper deck. And then, after dinner, we can go on a night tour potting caiman along the river banks, using spotlights and listen to the night sounds of the jungle. Overnight on board
day 14- IBEROSTAR GRAND AMAZON
Rio Manacapuru ; Lake Janauari (sunday)
This morning the Grand Amazon enters the Manacapuru River and, for the early risers, there is a chance to go birding in the skiffs, as the sun rises over the beautiful jungle. After breakfast, we board the expedition skiffs for a photo safari through the narrow waterways of the region, where the vegetation overhangs the water, or alternatively head out on a jungle walk adventure. Upon returning to the boat we can enjoy a lecture on Amazon People and Culture. After lunch and a rest, we head to Lake Janauari, where we have the chance to visit a regional houseboat, get to know the local crafts and take a short walking tour of the region. We wait until dusk before returning to the cruise boat as it is a great time to spot numerous species - especially birds - in large quantities. This evening there is a farewell dinner, in the Kuarup Restaurant, and a Folklore Show in the Lua Salon as we celebrate the sights we have seen and friends we have made over the course of the last few days. Overnight on board.
day 15 -IBEROSTAR GRAND AMAZON/MANAUS
We wake up early in order to see the fascinating phenomenon known as the Meeting of the Waters at sunrise. This is the point where the black water of the Rio Negro and brown water of the Solimoes meet - but don’t mix. Don’t worry, continental breakfast will be available! We then continue to the port of Manaus, for disembarkation.
